Typically we stayed away from single-family homes that needed a lot of work, but this one spoke to us. She was on an amazing street, next to a firehouse, and had a huge backyard. We bought her from the sheriff sale (that’s another whole experience!) but she is now a beautiful home with a growing family inside!
We started with the roof and exterior always a good idea in case it rains (we found this out the hard way!)
After- I chose darker tile floors- super durable because I wanted her to feel warmer inside than Parkwood Gem. I envisioned a family here, and that’s exactly what she attracted! We also removed walls to make the space more open. Todd and I regularly debate about this, but as someone who is in the kitchen a lot, I hate missing out on things so I always like cook and stay in the convo!
