Master Bath Remodel

The first thing I noticed were the skylights, and not in a good way. They scared me a bit on how I could make them work, yet now they are one of my new favorite parts of this space. I thought they screamed 1985 but with a little revamping I now feel like I’m in a sun-drenched spa! Not to mention my plants love the extra Vitamin D!

We started by basically tearing it all out- floor, divider wall, shower- to give us a blank space to plan. We wanted to keep the similar layout, not only to save money on plumbing but also the need to replace the large mirror above the sinks. We took out the existing cabinets, replaced with new soft-closing shaker style. The shower was custom, which allowed us to choose specific floor tile and larger marble tile for the walls. All fixtures are Kohler, which have served us well in the past. It’s also hard to convince my husband of any other fixtures since many of his family members are retired from Kohler in Wisconsin!
Marble floors gave that luxurious touch I wanted but I recommend the rugs- they can be slippery! I loved the color of the granite (and the name- Fantasy Brown :)) but had never used the leathered finish. It has a lot of ripples and a bold touch, but I LOVE it- and it’s texture adds a lot of detail to the space. The wall color (Thunder by Benjamin Moore) plays so well with the flooring and brings out the darker colors in the counter.

The tub was a must for me as well- and I had dreamed a beautiful soaking tub next to the window- like looking out of a treehouse. But of the whole space, my favorite little space are the marble shelves with branch brackets- a steal from World Market!
Looking forward to watching everything bloom while I get ready in the morning now!!! 🙂 Have a great weekend! Rebes
